Born and Raised in Ottawa, Denis is a strong community leader. Since his first volunteer experience as a young adult, he has volunteered for many local community based organizations such as the Centretown Citizens Community Association (Vice President), Pink Triangle Services (President), Ottawa Police Services Liaison Committee for the LGBT Community (Community Chair), Ontario Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (Regional Director), Bruce House (volunteer) to name a few. Denis is a Board Member of the Eldercare Foundation of Ottawa and organizes groups of volunteers monthly at the Shepherds of Good Hope.

He is extremely proud to have helped raise much needed awareness and funds for many important causes including Diabetes, not-for-profit long-term-care homes, HIV/AIDS, youth homelessness and theatre arts to name a few.  Denis founded and organized the first Diabetes Gala in Ottawa in support of sending local children with type 1 Diabetes to camp. The Mayor of Ottawa was on hand to declare it “World Diabetes Day in Ottawa”. This gala saw great attendance, and most importantly raised awareness and funds for a great cause in our city.
